Partnering with Educators to Improve Core Instruction & Elevate Equity
Why LSI
LSI is a mission-driven company specializing in developing the whole child – socially, emotionally, and academically. Schools experience tremendous success and recommend LSI to other districts because our approach is very different from others in the education industry. We invite you to explore this section more to find out why.
Whether in brick and mortar or virtual classrooms, we rapidly increase rigor and engagement in Tier 1 core instruction that closes stubborn learning gaps and increases equity and access for all students. Our solutions are research-based, and unlike pre-packaged solutions and “canned” programs, we honor where you are and where you want to go … and we get results.
Districts/Schools Turn to LSI When …
TEACHERS:
Need to strengthen virtual or brick and mortar core instruction practices and results.
Are unsure how to use classroom formative assessment in virtual or on-site instruction to close daily learning gaps before they become achievement gaps.
STUDENTS:
Need accelerated learning to close gaps and make up for lost instruction due to COVID-19.
Have proficiency levels that are unacceptable or have plateaued.
SCHOOLS:
Have a lack of consistency in the quality of distance learning or on-site instruction provided to students.
Have achievement gaps persist year after year despite robust efforts to address the issue.
Realize the futility of using intervention systems to solve core instructional issues.
Have had it with the expense and shortsightedness of mass interventions and are committed to reducing inequities in outcomes and seeing students experience more positive reinforcement when learning in core instruction.
Aren’t turning around the downward trend despite significant effort and they need an expert outside perspective to see the situation clearly and chart a course for better results.
Need to measure that the rigor of core instruction is consistent from grade to grade (or school to school).
Are tired of implementing the “next thing” or searching for the next “Silver Bullet.”

Our Research
We are, at our core, an applied research center and therefore place a high value on metrics, particularly leading data that demonstrates the effectiveness of our work long before the high stakes test scores arrive. Our solutions are research-based, many at ESSA Levels 2 and 3.

LSI provides a wide range of research-based support and services to schools and districts, from on-site and virtual expert-led professional development to leadership team coaching facilitated by high-achieving former principals, district leaders, and superintendents. We believe equity is achieved when a system assures all students receive highly effective grade-level instruction that builds knowledge and engages students in rigorous standards-based tasks with peers in collaborative interdependent teams. This not only raises test scores, it develops the whole child – socially, emotionally, and academically.
More about the LSI Applied Research CenterUNLV validated LSI’s Accelerated School Turnaround model and Student Evidence Tracker as meeting ESSA evidence-based criteria at Level 3. This independent verification confirms a level of research evidence that is very difficult to attain and is an important milestone for our Applied Research Center. They also validated Instructional Leadership Institute and our Metrics-based Monitoring and Support System as meeting ESSA Level 4.
